Gomeldon Primary School

Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium is an initiative introduced by the Government allocated into the school
budget to help children from lower income families to achieve their very best in school. The
Pupil Premium comprises of 2 grants allocated for children in receipt of Free School Meals
and children from Service families.

We use the Pupil Premium in various ways to support the learning and well-being of our
pupils and to help support additional opportunities to children of low income families.

We monitor and measure the impact of all of our intervention programmes and adapt
approaches where required in order to ensure that we deliver the very best support that we
can. It is important to understand that all children that have been identified as having a
need are also provided with appropriate support, however our statutory requirement is to
report only on the Pupil Premium Grant.
